Penny Cilley writes,"Hi! My name is Penny and my husband Pete and I have 3 wonderful
daughters: Kelsey (age 10), Caitlin (age 8) and Camille (age 6). We also
have two furkids: Sport, who is a 3 year old English Pointer rescue, and
now... Franky, the Papillon (who is almost 2 years old)!
Kelsey, our 10 year old daughter, had been coming to dog training classes
with Sport and I for some time, and wanted to try handling and training.
Unfortunately, Sport was proving to be a little to excitable in classes and
too frustrating for her to work alone. Our friend, September Morn (Author
and Dog Trainer), suggested that Kelsey might do better working her own dog.
Kelsey loved *that* idea, (of course) and began researching small breeds.
Kelsey consulted September in helping to narrow down the breeds, and
after some consideration, September said she thought a Papillon would be a
good choice to add to our family! Thus began our quest for our Papillon.
Kelsey was tireless in her pursuit of information about the breed. She read
numerous magazine articles, and coaxed me into starting an Internet habit!
Kelsey worked and saved her money towards the purchase of "her" dog for over
a year, and we provided matching funds. We were in the process of inquiring
about adopting from PCA rescue, when we found Franky through the Papfriends
List.
Kelsey and Franky have completed their first 6 week clicker-training
class and we are just starting our second set of classes. Kelsey hopes to continue working in classes and try out some
agility too! Hope you enjoy our pictures!"
