PAPICHAT is the original real-time
online chat for papillon friends who own, show or are just
interested in Papillons. While some chat groups have scheduled chat
times, we are there EVERY night, starting at 9pm cst/10pm est. We welcome anyone who wants to
join us to chat about the "Butterfly Dog" and make new
friends. We promise you will have a good time! In order to chat, you
need to download the mIRC
program.
If you use Windows 95, 98, ME,
2000 or XP download mIRC 32 bit, Version 6.16. It is shareware and
is free for 30 days use. After that, if you do not register
it, you will get a 'nag screen' telling you to buy it but it will
still work. {{If you use Windows
3.11, you need to get the 16 bit
version.}} Choose a download location and save the file to your hard
drive. Once mIRC has downloaded, click on OPEN and install it and
then, do the following. Click on FILE and OPTIONS and fill in
the fields with your own information. Use the down arrow to change
the default server to ShadowWorld. See the screen shots below
but do not put in Pappyon for your name...that is just there as an
example!
Now,
click on OK and your information will be saved. Next, click on File
and on Connect. A Channels Folder will pop up and you need to type in #papichat,
click on ADD, highlight #papichat and then click on JOIN. The next time you connect, #papichat will already be
there. A common error people make is connecting to the default
server, usually Dalnet, and they end up in a room named #papichat
but are all alone! Make sure you have selected ShadowWorld from the
list of servers. Also, it can take up to 45 seconds to connect,
depending on your Internet Provider, your modem, etc so please be
patient!
What you see below is a typical Papichat session. (if
there is such a thing, lol) Download mIRC and come and join us! We
promise you loads of fun and you might even learn a thing or two.
***NOTE If you
are an AOL user and have trouble connecting, try this. Set the
Port Number at 7000 and also click on the LOCAL INFO tab
and clear out all the boxes. Unmark both boxes in "On Connect
Always Get" and make sure the Method Box is on Normal. Leave
the Group and Password blank and click on OK.

is only for members of the Papfriends List. All others will be
kicked out and banned so if you happened on this website by
accident and don't have papillons, please do not join our chat.
